How do I activate the GoZone?


This process allows you to register on the programme and activate your GoZone so that you can get moving! Going through all 7 steps ensures that your GoZone is securely assigned to you and also ensures that we have the correct information to provide you with your customised meal and exercise plans. Once you have completed all the steps of the activation process you will be able to use your GoZone to track your steps.

Step 1 – Activate the GoZone battery
Remove the plastic tab from the side of the GoZone. Five zeros will appear on the display screen.

Step 2 – Downloading the GoZone software
Download the GoZone software
• Follow the on-screen instructions to download the software
• Choose RUN to install the software
• If you choose to SAVE the file, remember where you saved it and then double-click on the file to install.

Step 3 – Plug the USB cable into your computer and GoZone
Plug one end of the USB cable provided with the package into one of the USB slots on your computer. Be sure you are connected to the Internet before you plug in your pedometer. Plug the other, smaller end of the USB cable into your GoZone pedometer. When both ends of the USB cable are plugged in, you will be able to register your GoZone.
Please note: Windows may require you to restart your PC. If so, please restart and then plug your USB cable into the GoZone again after your computer has restarted.

Step 4 – Confirm or create your membership
First, you will need to accept the legal terms & conditions of the programme. Read through them, tick the box to say that you accept them and click on "Submit". Then, enter your Virgin Life Care username (you will only have this username if you are already a registered Virgin Life Care user), Virgin Active card number or ID number and surname. This step allows us to securely assign this pedometer to you.

Confirm your membership details:
If you are already a Virgin Life Care member (it does not matter whether you have registered before or not) you will see a page come up with some of your details (your name, surname, date of birth and sex). If these details are correct, click on the ‘Is me!’ button, which will then take you to the update details page where you will be able to update your details. You will also need to answer two questions in order to set your step target. This step target is your personal target that you are going to work towards. We recommend that you aim to do at least 7500 steps per day, but understand that it may take a few weeks for you to get there so you are able to change your step target as your fitness/ activity levels increase. Once you have reached your target of 7500, don’t stop there! Aim to increase your target even more!

Create your membership:
If you have never been a Virgin Life Care member before we will need some details from you to create your membership in our database. Once you have entered your ID number and surname you will be taken to a page where you will be able to fill in all your contact details. You will also need to answer two questions in order to set your step target. This step target is your personal target that you are going to work towards. We recommend that you aim to do at least 7500 steps per day, but understand that it may take a few weeks for you to get there so you are able to change your step target as your fitness/ activity levels increase. Once you have reached your target of 7500, don’t stop there! Aim to increase your target even more!

Step 5 – Set your security info
This step allows you to set yourself a pin and security details. These security details enable you to reset your PIN should you forget it in the future! You are also able to choose how you would like us to communicate with you during the course of the programme.

Select whether you would like to receive emails or sms’s and whether you would like to receive a copy of our monthly electronic newsletter, Motion. What is important to note is that this programme involves us sending you information about challenges and competitions and therefore communication with us is quite important. Click on the box of your preferred communication method.

Step 6 – Click on the finish button
Once you have clicked on "submit" your GoZone will be activated and ready to use! You will receive an sms or email confirming your username and pin that you have selected. Keep these on hand next time you upload your steps to allow you to view your steps online. Your username is your birthdate plus 4 unique numbers at the end.
Once the GoZone is activated, unplug it from the USB cable. Always make sure to unplug your GoZone before restarting your computer.

Step 7 – Take the quiz
This quiz assesses your overall health and wellbeing and includes questions on medical/ family history, nutrition and exercise habits as well as quality of life. It also aims to provide you with your customised meal and exercise plans based on goals that you set for yourself. You will also be able to set step targets for yourself to work towards.

When completing the quiz it is necessary to answer each question on each page. At the end of the quiz there will be a report, meal plan and exercise plan generated for you.

If you are already a Virgin Life Care/ Healthy Living member and have taken the quiz in the past 3 months you will not be required to complete it again at this time. You will just be taken through the questions that are specific to the GoZone.

If you would like to receive new meal and exercise plans at any time, click on the "Click here to update your plans" button on the homepage. If you would like to reset your step targets you will be able to do this in your logbook. Simply click on the "change" button at the top of the page next to your current step target in your Logbook. You will need to answer 2 questions which will reset your step target.

I have lost my GoZone and received a new one. How do I activate my replacement GoZone?


This process is similar to the one that you went through to register and activate your first GoZone, but slightly shortened. It is important that we go through these steps again to ensure that the correct GoZone is assigned to your name. Once you have completed all the steps of the activation process you will be able to use your GoZone to track your steps.

Step 1 – Activate the GoZone battery
